This was a delightful set of short stories, all revolving in some way around the Christmas season. Each of the stories are quick reads and all have magical elements. The characters are very well depicted, unique individuals that bring charm and smiles. Some of the stories I liked better than others (the last two were my favorites), but all of them have believable creativite elements. These are good for youngsters, teens, and adults, and I can imagine reading them aloud to my daughter.

Quirky, yes, but funny too

I enjoyed this quirky look at the holidays. Mr Langston has an offbeat way of looking at ordinary events, using everyday people in normal situations that become, well, NOT normal. I enjoyed it. If you hold Christmas "sacred" this may not be the book for you but if you have a sense of humor, enjoy!

Happy version of "Twilight Zone"

Loved these stories! They reminded me of the humorous episodes on the old TV show, "The Twilight Zone." Christmas is my favorite season, but sometimes I get tired of seeing and hearing the same kind of stuff over and over. You certainly don't have to worry about that with this book! Yes, it serves up fantasy, magic and even science fiction, but what makes the stories interesting are the quirky characters and the unusual situations. And I love the short little quotes at the beginning of each story. Great fun! (Besides, I've already read "Under Saint Owain's Rock," so I knew these short stories would be good!)
