THREE LAWS OF LIGHTHAVENS
Law OneDo not leave a Lighthaven without permission. There are dangerous plants that could kill or infect you. A Quakeroot can annihilate an entire convoy. Stormblossoms create whirlpools and catch their prey in underwater roots.
Law TwoStay away from any plant that could be dangerous. Do not touch it, eat it, smell it, or go near it. Accidental ingestion can result in melting stomachs, giant boils, or weeds sprouting out of eye sockets. Also, there is the possibility of becoming a Wild: one becomes a Blood Demon by merely touching a berry.
Law ThreeReport anyone with plants growing on their bodies. Wilds are a threat and must be eliminated immediately. Fire Grove has reported sightings of Crows, recognizable by the long Darkblades growing from their arms and back. They are liars and murderers. The worst Wild is the Green Witch. She has lime-green eyes and emerald vines instead of hair. Avoid her at all costs.

A new, unique world that I'd love to visit.
By Kenneth Cone
What a great story! I've read hundreds of fantasy books, which isn't hard when one devours Eddings, Weis and Hickman, Rowling, Prachett, Lewis and Tolkien. After enjoying these wonderful books, I find myself discarding so many "wanna be" and "me too" authors. Only once in a great while do I find a new author as intriguing as the greats, and as you may have guessed by the five stars I rated Sullivan & Sullivan, I think I've found another.
It's hard to explain the world within this book without spoiling the experience, so I won't. Suffice it to say that the Sullivan brothers create a new world, one I can assure you that you've _never_ visited before, not even in a parallel universe. No insects, no animals, but instead the reader finds a world, or garden rather, where unexpected adventures await increasingly developing characters.
I wasn't at all expecting "the Garden", and I was surprised by unexpected risks and dangers. I mean "plants that grow ... even in the flesh of humans"? Can you imagine? You will! It's pretty scary, although kinda cool at the same time.
At the beginning of the book, we're introduced to the twins. Axton is studious and soaks up information. His sister has innate street-smarts and an over-developed penchant for alienating herself from everybody but her brother. They both need each other, if only they can grow close enough to rely on each other! Still, I grew close to both of them, and am hard pressed to choose a favorite.
Their parents vanished at an early age, and when they somehow get a glimpse of their family history, they rush off in search of them. Thus begins the twins' adventures, accompanied by you the reader, guided by the skillful pens of the Sullivan brothers and accented by your imagination.
I wish I could say more, but all I have for you is: buy this book. You'll love it. ...and, when you finish, you'll be hungry for the next one, which according to their website, looks like it's coming out this summer.

New Rhyme of the Willow fan!
By happy
I'm loving this book! I'm not finished with it, but I wanted to be one of the first to write a review. I seriously haven't had this much fun in a long time. It's a fun story, and very well written. It's just as good as Hunger Games or Harry Potter (so far anyway), but at the same time, it's different than anything that I've ever read before. I'm completely blown away!
Can't wait to finish it!

Holy Smokin' Wow.

Shadowbloom - First in the Rhyme of the Willow series.
May I say that I am a pretty picky reader, so I approached this book with caution. However, I was blown away. The story line . . . The world! The characters . . . it was all amazing. The plot kept me guessing the whole book, and the writing was amazing. I can honestly say that I didnt find one grammar issue here, and the spelling was extremely good. In fact, it read very much like Cornelia Funke's Reckless.
I felt as if I was reading a published book, and quite honestly, I would love to have this book sitting on my shelf. There were a few minor plot holes, but nothing big, so it was a minor issue. I would like to congratulate the Sullivan brothers for writing this. This is a book you can be proud of. It was creative and cute, a little bit scary, and very amazing.
I would give this book a 8 1/2 out of a ten. Happy Reading!
